Low Budget Independent films (Box Office figures)

Recent -
We Need to Talk About Kevin - 11 weeks on release, Site average - £886, Total Gross - £2,166,950
Senna - Total Gross - £7,689,378

These two films have an anglo american audience. They both were shown in UK/USA screens.
They are both independent as well being low budgeted films. Senna is a documentary which is a surprising approach due to the fact they have become decreasingly popular. Senna brought in alot in box office figures since they were a low budgeted film which appealed in independent screens. The main reason why I choose this film because this is nearly the exact approach of which I hope to achieve. I am looking to have an anglo american audience as well global
because of the Olympic games included in my film.

We Need to Talk About Kevin is another UK/USA film which only came out recently, so far its total gross is £2,166,95 and this could slowly rise to the success Senna had. The film was also premiered at Cannes Festival which came to the eye of many film critics which helped to boost its marketing strategy. This is also the route I want to go down, where I market the film to both audiences but also advertising the film through festivals and events.
